Varsity area, as per their direction
Please note the following are the parking enforcement guidelines for PCO’s to follow when enforcing the parking regulations at 275 Bloor St W. If you are unclear or come across a situation that is not listed below always notify your supervisor before proceeding to enforce.
- The two reserved spaces.
- Vehicles should be displaying the permit that is issued by Varsity. If there is no permit, then a “Warning” is issued and then followed up by a $75.00 violation if the vehicle is found on site again. Officers are not to go inside and ask if the vehicle is to be parked in the spaces they just enforce the rule that a permit must be displaced.
- The fire route area in the back area.
- The area that belongs Varsity – any commercial marked vans or trucks our staff are not to ticket as they are most likely at Varsity stadium or arena. The City of Toronto Parking Enforcement though can come onto the property and issue violations, they have the authorization to enter any property and enforce the Fire Route By-law.
- Any unmarked vehicles should be issued a fire route violation
- At entrance off Devonshire Pl.
- No motorcycles allowed. One “Warning”, then if motorcycle is found onsite again a $75.00 violation should be issued.
- Commercial vehicles in the area will be left alone.
- Personal vehicles issued a $75.00 violation.
- Inlet by the front door. This area is not marked, but the Varsity management does not mind if;
- A motorcycle or two are permitted to park there
- Buses in the fire route should be permitted to park along the fire route as long as the bus driver is with the bus. If you find a bus that is unattended than the fire route violation should be issued. If a bus is blocking the lane while many vehicles are trying to enter/exit and creating traffic then please request the driver of the vehicle to leave and then come back once the traffic has calmed.
- If a complaint is issued to you while you are patrolling; the only individuals direction you are to follow is Christopher Dickins. If someone else is complaining to you, that person should direct their complaint to Christopher.
As always please use your best discretion in this area. We are to enforce the rules as per Varsity (Christopher Dickins) guidelines.
